Halo Neuf

Nine rings, one light source, and nothing else.

The most restrained thing the atelier makes, and the hardest to get right. Nine concentric brass rings, each 3 mm in section, suspended on invisible stainless wire so that from below they appear to float unconnected.

A single linear source sits inside the innermost ring and lights the other eight by reflection alone. Getting even brightness across a 1.5 m span from one source took nineteen prototypes; the answer was to polish the inner face of each ring and leave the outer face brushed.

There is no glass in Halo Neuf. It is included in the collection because the atelier decided early that the work is about light, not about crystal.
